PHOTOGRAPHS - ACCESSIONS
In addition to the 551 photographs that comprise the original Photograph Collection, the Woody Guthrie Archives also holds over 750 additional Photographs and Negatives, which have been donated to the Archives and accessioned into the Collection. For over 10 years, the Archives has received photographs from friends, family, and fans of Guthrie, and we are pleased to be able to present a complete listing of these Photographs, all of which are available, in-house, for consultation by Researchers.
Additions to the Photograph Collection include many photographs of Woody Guthrie, among them images of Guthrie in performance (1997-1.1), Guthrie and family at Greystone Park Hospital (1998-41), and Guthrie traveling through Beluthahatchee, FL, with Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Anneke Van Kirk, in the late-1950's (2001-16).
In addition to photographs of Guthrie, recent donations to the Photograph Collection include images of musicians who have worked with Guthrie material, including Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bragg, Jeff Tweedy, Pete Seeger, Leadbelly, Jimmy LaFave, and Josh White . This Collection also contains photographs taken of scholars conducting research at the Woody Guthrie Archives in New York City, including authors Guy Lodgson and Elizabeth Partridge . Also included in this section are many photographs of Guthrie's second wife, Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, and their children Arlo Guthrie, Joady Guthrie, and Nora Guthrie.
