The Woody Guthrie Foundation, in cooperation with the BMI Foundation, is pleased to announce that the application period for the 2008 Woody Guthrie Fellowship program is now open.
A limited number of short-term fellowships, with a value of up to $2,500 USD per recipient, will be awarded to scholars interested in conducting project-based research on topics relating to the life and legacy of Woody Guthrie. The Fellowship aims to support researchers by helping to defray the cost of travel to New York City and residence expenses during the duration of the Fellowship period, allowing researchers the opportunity to utilize the rich collection of materials available at the Woody Guthrie Archives.
The Woody Guthrie Fellowship program invites applicants who are pursuing research topics or themes related to Woody Guthrie that explore his creative work and contribution to American music and culture.
The application period has a deadline of December 31, 2008.
